The 320-Hour Eyelash Extension Specialty License

  • What it covers: Eyelash extensions — classic, hybrid, volume — plus the theory, sanitation, and Texas law behind them
  • Best for: You know you want to do lashes. You want the fastest legal path to taking paying lash clients
  • Timeline: A few months full-time; longer on a flexible schedule around work or kids

The 750-Hour Esthetician License

  • Hours: 750
  • What it covers: Facials, skincare treatments, waxing, brow services, makeup, body treatments — and eyelash extensions too
  • Best for: You want the full menu. Facials, waxing, brows, lashes — the complete beauty service provider
  • Timeline: Longer, but you graduate able to offer everything

What About Both? The 800-Hour Combined Path

Here's what most schools won't tell you upfront: Texas allows a combined Manicurist/Esthetician path at just 800 hours — only 50 hours more than the esthetician program alone. But there's a catch: you must enroll in the combined program from day one. You can't finish a 750-hour program and tack on 50 hours later. If you want both licenses, choose the combined path before you start.

Which One Makes More Money?

It depends on you, not the license. A booked-out lash artist with a loyal clientele can out-earn a generalist. An esthetician offering facials, waxing, and lashes has more ways to fill a slow Tuesday. The real income driver is the same either way: skill, clientele, and consistency.
